In a dystopian world where humans are void of choice and occupations are assigned at birth. We observe a group of Synthents who have been bred for one sole purpose: to entertain.
Under The Generact Programme, our Synthents are the vessel for the retelling of Legends and Tales, imposed to perform under the unrelenting gaze of observers, critics and opportunists. Our group journey’s through the miseries and rapture of life as an artist and how an audience fuel the unyielding compulsion for performance.
In a world dominated by spectacle and grandeur, audiences have drifted from the raw, unfiltered power of storytelling. “The Legend” challenges viewers to confront the trials and triumphs of performers, unveiling the relentless pursuit of perfection, fight for acceptance, and the ruthless entertainment industry. Beneath the playful exploration of legends and tales lies a darker truth—a lens through which audiences can uncover the physical and psychological toll of an actor's craft, experiencing both the soaring highs and harrowing hardships of their journey.

"The Legend" is a "visually stunning" Platform Theatre piece created by Box House Theatre Company. A cast of six actors are confined within the parameters of a Platform whilst showcasing four legends that all end with a twist.
Does the strive for perfection hinder an artist? Or does self expectation push us to our creative limits? “The Legend” explores how an actor deals with those expectations, who creates them and where they are born from. Stripped-down, high-impact theatre seen on stages all over the globe — this is dystopia reimagined that echoes the dark brilliance for fans of 1984, The Hunger Games, and Black Mirror.
“form-bending creatives finding new and innovative ways to convey stories. The cast are seamless in their voice and movement - this is the show that drama students thought they were making but so much better.”

Our first instalment ”The Legend” is a compelling four-part anthology “masterpiece” that breathes new life into legends and tales we have grown to know and love such as the thievery of Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood’s naivety, curiosity of Alice in Wonderland all heading to the finale of the revenge of the Ragnarssons.
With our synthents retelling of these legends, tales and mythos that have passed through generations, our vessels delve into the deeper themes of identity, legacy, the human connection, and how stories—old and new—shape the world we live in.

in development

the future of our work is one that is innovating theatre, challenging the artist and fearlessly testing audiences. we envision a trilogy of pieces that coexist within one universe. one that is performed without intermissions.
The Generact Trilogy
The Legend, The Poet and The Maker.

narratively, The trilogy explores the trials and triumphs of actors navigating the entertainment industry—traversing every sector necessary to achieve success. Our overarching narrative ties into how society views artists and the work they create.
Today’s artists are required to deliver output - ticket sales, followers, reviews. Artists and theatre are serving as products rather than art itself and the humans behind those creations. Our trilogy explores the life of an artist, the expectations of viewers where the impossibility of perfection can be imposed by audience, critics, reviewers and even the artist themselves.

creatively, Our vision for this trilogy is to offer audiences an unparalleled experience which has never been done before:
a trilogy of high intensity physical pieces performed in one night, with actors continuing to craft soundscapes and visuals during intervals, creating a seamless three-four hour spectacle of pure physical theatre where the craft of the artist is celebrated and focus is on the physical actors themselves, that it is their power and craft that brings theatre to life - not lights, big sets and huge budgets.
