PLATFORM THEATRE WORKSHOP
Platform Theatre is one of the most unique styles of theatre around the globe. This style takes physical theatre to the next level where the actors not only play characters, but also become the set, props, costumes, and everything else in-between, all whilst being confined to a small space that is a gym mat.
This workshop will be led by an award-winning platform theatre actor and director of the UK touring piece Twisted Tales. Collecting a total of 12 awards including, best original piece, best actor, best actress, best ensemble, and best director.

ACTING THROUGH SONG WORKSHOP
Performing a song can be daunting for even the most confident of artists. this workshop will provide your students with the opportunity to gain insight from a working professional, explore the fundamentals of acting through song, and how to successfully portray a character when performing a song.
This workshop will be led by Matthew hobbs. credits include but are not limited to National gilbert and sullivan opera company, the 12 tenors world tour, choir of man - west end, Australian, and united states tour.

Overview
Platform Theatre is Box House's brand-new theatre style that restricts actors to the confined space of a gym mat. This particular style is incredibly unique as the actors do not have any assistance from props, set, costumes, and sound. By doing this, it means the actors only have their physical selves and voice to tell a story.
Platform theatre is the art of showcasing choreography, attention to detail, and interesting characters using minimalistic performance techniques. When successfully devised, your students will be able to transport the audience to far away lands within seconds.
This style also allows your students to freely explore the use of multi-rolling, caricatures, mime, and choreographed movement with ease.
Curriculum
Platform Theatre is a fantastic style for your students to explore within their devising unit as it allows them to freely experiment with their stimuli and create fun and innovative theatre without spending a penny.
This style also allows your students to quickly move past the tricky stage of deciding what props, costume, or staging they will need for their piece as minimalism is essential .
Additionally, this style will also introduce your students to the use of choreographed movement and sound effects within theatre.

what we do
Box House Theatre is passionate about finding new and innovative ways of introducing interactive theatre techniques to assist with curriculum. Many children benefit from a more hands-on and visual approach so we made it our sole mission to develop a variety of educational workshops and performances for KS3 through to A-Level to work alongside curriculum and current projects.
Our specialist workshops will give an insight into using drama and theatre techniques to develop socially, boost confidence, aid memorisation and assist with the current syllabus.
Combining techniques used within improvisation, devising, physical theatre, character development, etc, we offer a well-rounded experience for all students to learn and develop skills that can be used when learning and developing knowledge.
